Sarasota is at the height of its tourist season, so I decided to be a tourist, too, in my own backyard! We are lucky to have a world-class orchid and bromeliad research center right in downtown Sarasota on the bay. Marie Selby Botanical Gardens is one of the gems of the area. If you come to Florida’s Gulf Coast south of Tampa, put Selby on your list of things to do!
