Tanzania!

When our family trip ended in mid-September in Athens, Tom and Chris returned to the States and Anthony and I trekked on to Africa for a two-week safari with an Odysseys Unlimited group of 15 other people. We had each come to partake in Africa’s wild side, and this animal-rich East Africa country delivered. Our taste of Tanzania included the snows of Kilimanjaro in the distance; a little gem, Arusha National Park; the Ngorongoro Crater’s dust in our lungs; the Olduvai Gorge in its glory; the sweep of the Serengeti; exotic Zanzibar in the Indian Ocean; and finally, the jungle along the Wami River in Saadani National Park, where fewer than 500 non-natives visit each year. We savored this landscape called Tanzania, and she carved out a place in our hearts.
